The city of Corinth was a city of wealth, a city of indulgence, a city of politics and a city of wild pagan rituals. Several New Testament evangelists came to Corinth to tell the people about Jesus and many lives were changed! However, like all of us, the changes took time. The old habits and practices were slow to die and the seeds of new life grew slowly. So Paul wrote these letters to rebuke but encourage these very young followers of Jesus as they transformed from sinners to saints.
